Why Stamped Concrete
Beats the Alternatives
You want the look of natural stone or pavers but you do not want to pay $25 to $40 per square foot. Stamped concrete gives you that high-end look at $12 to $15 per square foot — and it actually holds up better in Arizona.
Stamped Concrete vs Pavers
Pavers look great on day one. But in Prescott, they shift. The freeze-thaw cycles push them around. Weeds grow between them. Ants build hills underneath. You end up with a patio that looks wavy and uneven after a few years.
Stamped concrete is one solid slab. It does not shift. No weeds. No ants. No resetting individual pavers every spring. It costs less to install and less to maintain over the life of the surface. For our climate, stamped concrete is the smarter choice.
How Stamped Concrete Works
We pour a standard concrete slab, then while it is still wet, we apply color hardener to the surface and press large rubber stamps into the concrete. The stamps create patterns that look like natural stone, brick, tile, or wood. Once the concrete cures, we wash it, apply a release agent for contrast, and seal it.
The result is a surface that looks like expensive natural materials but has the strength and durability of concrete. Done right, it is hard to tell the difference from real stone — especially from a few feet away.
Color Options
We offer dozens of color combinations. The base color comes from integral color or color hardener applied during the pour. The accent color comes from a release agent that settles into the stamped texture and gives it depth and contrast.
Most popular colors in Prescott are earth tones — tans, browns, terra cotta, and slate gray. These blend with the natural landscape and the Southwestern architecture you see around here. We bring color samples to every estimate so you can see what works with your house.
Sealing and Maintenance
Stamped concrete needs to be sealed. The sealer protects the color, adds a subtle sheen, and keeps water from penetrating the surface. We apply the first coat of sealer after the concrete cures. After that, you need to reseal every 2 to 3 years.
Resealing is not hard — you can do it yourself with a roller in a couple hours, or we can do it for you. Beyond that, just keep it clean with a broom or pressure washer. That is it. Way less maintenance than pavers or natural stone.
Stamped Concrete Patterns
We Offer
We carry the most popular stamp patterns used across the Southwest. Here are the ones Prescott homeowners request the most.
Ashlar Slate
The most popular pattern we pour. Clean, rectangular stone shapes in a random layout. Looks like natural cut slate. Works on driveways, patios, pool decks — everything. This is the pattern most people picture when they think stamped concrete.
Cobblestone
Old-world European look. Small, rounded stone shapes that give you a classic cobblestone street feel. Looks amazing on driveways and entryways. Pairs well with warm earth-tone colors. Very popular on homes with a rustic or traditional style.
Wood Plank
Looks like real wood decking but it is concrete. You get the warm look of wood without the rot, warping, splinters, and constant maintenance. Great for patios and pool decks where you want a natural feel but need something that can handle Arizona weather.
Flagstone
Natural, irregular stone shapes that mimic real Arizona flagstone. This is the pattern that blends best with the Prescott landscape. We can match it to the natural rock on your property for a seamless look. Popular on patios, walkways, and around pools.
Our Stamped Concrete
Process
Stamped concrete requires precise timing and skilled hands. Here is how we deliver a finished product that looks amazing.
Design Consultation
We come to your property with pattern samples and color charts. We look at your house, your landscaping, your existing hardscape — and help you pick a combination that ties it all together. This is where the magic starts.
Site Prep and Base Work
Same attention to base prep as any pour. We excavate, grade, compact, and form. For stamped concrete, the base is even more critical because any settlement or cracking ruins the pattern. We do not cut corners here.
Pour, Color, and Stamp
We pour the concrete, apply the color hardener while it is fresh, then press the stamp patterns into the surface at exactly the right time. Too early and it is mushy. Too late and it is too hard. Timing is everything with stamped work — this is where experience really matters.
Wash, Detail, and Seal
After the concrete cures, we wash off the release agent, touch up any details, and apply a high-quality sealer. The sealer locks in the color, adds sheen, and protects the surface. We clean up and hand you a finished product that makes your neighbors jealous.

Stamped Concrete FAQ
Everything you need to know about stamped concrete in the Prescott AZ area.
Stamped concrete typically runs $12 to $15 per square foot in the Prescott area, depending on the pattern complexity and number of colors. A basic one-color ashlar slate pattern is on the lower end. Multi-color flagstone with borders and custom details is on the higher end. For comparison, natural stone or pavers run $25 to $40+ per square foot installed.
With proper installation and maintenance, stamped concrete lasts 25 to 30+ years. The concrete itself is the same strength as any structural slab. The color and pattern are permanent — they do not wear off because the color goes into the surface. Resealing every 2 to 3 years keeps it looking fresh and protects against UV fading.
It can be if it is over-sealed. We use a non-slip additive in our sealer for any surface that gets foot traffic, especially pool decks and entryways. The texture from the stamp pattern also provides natural grip. We have never had a slip complaint on a properly sealed job.
All concrete can crack. But we minimize it with the same methods we use on any pour — proper base prep, right concrete mix, reinforcement, and control joints. The nice thing about stamped concrete is that the pattern and texture help hide any minor cracks that do develop. A small crack in stamped concrete is way less noticeable than a crack in plain gray concrete.
Ashlar slate is the most popular by far — it works on everything. Flagstone is popular for patios and walkways because it blends with the natural landscape. Cobblestone is popular for driveways and entryways. Wood plank is gaining popularity for patios and pool decks. We carry all of these and more.
Every 2 to 3 years. In Prescott, the UV exposure and freeze-thaw cycles are harder on sealer than in lower elevations. We recommend resealing every 2 years for surfaces that get direct sun all day, and every 3 years for covered or shaded areas. It is a simple job — clean the surface and roll on a new coat.
